Phylogenetic reconstruction of Chirita and allies (Gesneriaceae) with taxonomic treatments
- Yin‐Zheng Wang, Runli Mao, James F. Smith
- Biology
- 1 January 2011
The morphological evolution of Chirita was analyzed and a series of morphological synapomorphies for the monophyletic groups revealed herein were identified to provide a taxonomic treatment in this study.
Molecular Phylogeny of the Cyrtophorid Ciliates (Protozoa, Ciliophora, Phyllopharyngea)
- Shan Gao, Jie Huang, Jia-Mei Li, Weibo Song
- BiologyPLoS ONE
- 12 March 2012
The results indicated that the assignment of cyrtophorians into two orders is consistently confirmed in all topologies and the order Dysteriida is an outlined monophyletic assemblage while Chlamydodontida is paraphyletic with three separate monophylettic families.

Origin and phylogenetic relationships of the Old World Gesneriaceae with actinomorphic flowers inferred from ITS and trnL-trnF sequences.
- Yin‐Zheng Wang, Rong-hua Liang, A. Weber
- Biology
- 1 August 2010
It is hypothesized that the evolution from zygomorphy to actinomorphy with novel combinations of characters is possibly due to shifts in pollination strategies, such as a switch from nectar- to pollen-rewards.

- Jia-Mei Li, Yin‐Zheng Wang
- Biology
- 1 October 2007
The present analyses indicate that nomenclatural changes will be needed to reflect more accurately relationships in the Gibbosaccus-Chiritopsis complex and reconsider the morphological evolution and adaptation between and within the two genera.
