Inhibition of ghrelin O-acyltransferase (GOAT) by octanoylated pentapeptides
The data suggest that GOAT is subjected to end-product inhibition and this inhibition is better achieved with substrates having the octanoyl group attached through an amide linkage rather than the corresponding ester, which may facilitate the future design of useful inhibitors of GOAT. Expand
DLK initiates a transcriptional program that couples apoptotic and regenerative responses to axonal injury
It is shown that the mixed-lineage dual leucine zipper kinase (DLK) is an essential upstream mediator of both of these divergent outcomes in the same cell type. Expand
Fungal diversity notes 367–490: taxonomic and phylogenetic contributions to fungal taxa
Eight new genera, 101 new species, two new combinations, one neotype, four reference specimens, new host or distribution records for eight species and one alternative morphs are introduced in this paper. Expand
Structures of ABCB10, a human ATP-binding cassette transporter in apo- and nucleotide-bound states
These structures suggest that the observed plasticity, together with a portal between two helices in the transmembrane region of ABCB10, assist transport substrate entry into the substrate binding cavity, indicating that ABC transporters may exist in an open-inwards conformation when nucleotide is bound. Fungal diversity notes 253–366: taxonomic and phylogenetic contributions to fungal taxa
In the Ascomycota the new genera Angustospora (Testudinaceae), Camporesia (Xylariaceae), Clematidis, Crassiparies, and Parameliola (Pleosporales genera incertae sedis) are introduced. Expand
Fungal diversity notes 603–708: taxonomic and phylogenetic notes on genera and species
This study introduces a new family Fuscostagonosporaceae in Dothideomycetes and introduces the new ascomycete genera Acericola, Castellaniomyces, Dictyosporina and Longitudinalis. Expand
Surface modification and endothelialization of biomaterials as potential scaffolds for vascular tissue engineering applications.
Both gene engineering and targeting ligand immobilization are promising methods to improve the clinical outcome of artificial vascular grafts and could effectively accelerate selective endothelial cell recruitment and functional endothelialization. Expand
Freshwater Sordariomycetes
Sordariomycetes is one of the largest classes of Ascomycota that comprises a highly diverse range of fungi mainly characterized by perithecial ascomata and inoperculate unitunicate asci. FreshwaterExpand
Preparation and characterization of chitosan/gelatin/PVA hydrogel for wound dressings.
The hemostatic effect of hydrogels were optimal, and the hydrogrls also showed good pH-sensitivity, swelling ability and water evaporation rate, and showed a promising potential to be applied as wound dressing. Expand
A rapid and sensitive liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method for the determination of hydroxysafflor yellow A in human plasma: application to a pharmacokinetic study.
A sensitive and specific liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method has been developed and validated for the determination of hydroxysafflor yellow A in human plasma and was successfully applied to the study on pharmacokinetics of HSYA in 12 healthy volunteers. Expand
