Targeting MLL1 H3K4 methyltransferase activity in mixed-lineage leukemia.
TLDR
Results show that inhibiting MLL1 methyltransferase activity specifically blocks proliferation of MLL cells by inducing cell-cycle arrest, apoptosis, and myeloid differentiation without general toxicity to normal bone marrow cells or non-MLL cells.
Tsc1 mutant neural stem/progenitor cells exhibit migration deficits and give rise to subependymal lesions in the lateral ventricle.
TLDR
It is reported that loss of Tsc1 in mouse subventricular zone (SVZ) neural stem/progenitor cells (NSPCs) results in formation of SEN- and SEGA-like structural abnormalities in the lateral ventricle, the consequence of abnormal migration of NSPCs following T sc1 loss.
Antiinflammatory constituents from the roots of smilax bockii warb.
TLDR
The SEAP (Secreted alkaline phosphatase) assay system was investigated and in vitro anti-inflammatory activity of the 70% ethanol extract of the roots of S. bockii showed moderate activity in inhibiting TNF-α-induced NF-κB activation with an IC50 value of 166.6 μg/mL.
Lysosome biogenesis mediated by vps-18 affects apoptotic cell degradation in Caenorhabditis elegans.
TLDR
It is demonstrated that phagosomes containing internalized cell corpses are unable to fuse with lysosomes in vps-18 mutants, providing direct evidence for the important role of endosomal/lysosomal degradation in proper clearance of apoptotic cells during programmed cell death.

TLDR
The known extraribosomal functions of RPs and associated changes in colorectal cancer and attempt to clarify the possible roles of RPS in colonic malignancy are reviewed.
Understanding the Physical Interactions in the FGF21/FGFR/β‐Klotho Complex: Structural Requirements and Implications in FGF21 Signaling
TLDR
The data suggest that the D1/linker region regulates both the FGF21/FG FR1c and FGFR1c/β‐Klotho interaction, and a direct interaction of F GF21 with FGFR 1c may be an important step in receptor‐mediated FGF 21 signaling.
Negative regulation of phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate levels in early-to-late endosome conversion
C. elegans SORF-1 and SORF-2 and their mammalian homologs WDR91 and WDR81 maintain appropriate PtdIns3P levels in early-to-late endosome conversion by forming a complex with the Beclin1 subunit of
Involvement of Advanced Glycation End Products in the Pathogenesis of Diabetic Retinopathy
TLDR
Novel anti-AGEs agents or AGE crosslink “breakers” are being investigated, it is hoped that in next few years, some of these promising therapies will be successfully applied in clinical context, aiming to reduce the major economical and medical burden caused by DR.
Discovery of a Highly Potent, Cell-Permeable Macrocyclic Peptidomimetic (MM-589) Targeting the WD Repeat Domain 5 Protein (WDR5)-Mixed Lineage Leukemia (MLL) Protein-Protein Interaction.
We report herein the design, synthesis, and evaluation of macrocyclic peptidomimetics that bind to WD repeat domain 5 (WDR5) and block the WDR5-mixed lineage leukemia (MLL) protein-protein
Sesquiterpenes from Vladimiria souliei and their inhibitory effects on NO production.
TLDR
The methanol extract of the roots of Vladimiria souliei was found to show significant inhibitory effects on INF-γ-induced nitric oxide production in murine macrophage RAW264.7 cells.
