Anti-AIDS agents--XXVI. Structure-activity correlations of gomisin-G-related anti-HIV lignans from Kadsura interior and of related synthetic analogues.
- D. F. Chen, S. Zhang, +7 authors K. Lee
- Chemistry, Medicine
- Bioorganic & medicinal chemistry
- 1 August 1997
The anti-HIV data indicated that the relative position and types of substituents on the phenolic hydroxy groups of either the natural lignans or the synthetic biphenyl compounds rather than the numbers of bromine(s) on the aromatic rings are of primary importance. Expand
Corianin from Coriaria japonica A. Gray, and sesquiterpene lactones from Loranthus parasiticus Merr. used for treatment of schizophrenia.
- T. Okuda, T. Yoshida, X. Chen, J. Xie, M. Fukushima
- Biology, Medicine
- Chemical & pharmaceutical bulletin
- 25 January 1987
The structure of corianin was elucidated on the basis of nuclear magnetic resonance and chemical evidence and the previously proposed structure for coriatin was also s ubstantiated. Expand
Fertility regulating agents from traditional Chinese medicines.
Findings range from anti-implantation agents to abortifacient and pregnancy-terminating compounds, as well as a male contraceptive, which are reviewed to help solve the problem of population explosion. Expand
Anti-AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome) agents. 17. New brominated hexahydroxybiphenyl derivatives as potent anti-HIV agents.
Sixteen biphenyl derivatives were synthesized and evaluated for their inhibitory activity against HIV-1 replication in acutely infected H9 cells and suggested that the types of substituents on the phenolic hydroxy groups rather than the number of bromine(s) on the aromatic rings are important to the enhanced anti-HIV activity. Expand
[Synthesis of Schizandrin C analogs (author's transl)].
Effects of growth hormone (rhGH) and glutamine supplemented parenteral nutrition on intestinal adaptation in short bowel rats.
It is concluded that rhGH and Gln have synergistic effects on adaptation of the intestinal remnant in parenterally fed, short-bowel rats and the concept that specific gut-trophic nutrients and growth factors may be combined to enhance the intestinal adaptation is supported. Expand
Antitumor agents. 134. New shiraiachrome-A- and calphostin-C-related perylene derivatives as cytotoxic and antiviral agents and inhibitors of protein kinase C.
A series of new perylene derivatives related to Shiraiachrome-A and -B as well as Calphostin-C have been synthesized and evaluated for their cytotoxicity, antiviral activity, and inhibitory activity against protein kinase C. Expand
[The isolation and structure of argutone--a new bacteriostatic constituent of Incarvillea arguta].
- M. K. Yang, Y. S. Tang, +4 authors Q. Zheng
- Chemistry, Medicine
- Yao xue xue bao = Acta pharmaceutica Sinica
- 1 September 1987
Argutone——a new constituent having bacteriostatic and sedative activities was isolated from the foliage of the Incarvillea arguta (Royle) Royle as 2-ethoxymethylene-3,5-dihydroxy-γ-pyrone, which has weak intra-molecular hydrogen bond and the molecules are held together by Van Der Waals force in the solid state. Expand
Constituents from the roots of Semiaquilegia adoxoides.
The isolation of griffonilide (1), lithospermoside (2) and magnoflorine (3) from the roots of Semiaquilegia adoxoides is reported.
