Trastuzumab causes antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity–mediated growth inhibition of submacroscopic JIMT-1 breast cancer xenografts despite intrinsic drug resistance
- Márk Barok, J. Isola, J. Szöllösi
- Medicine, BiologyMolecular Cancer Therapeutics
- 1 July 2007
In vitro ADCC reaction of human leukocytes was equally strong against breast cancer cells intrinsically sensitive or resistant to trastuzumab or even against a subline of JIMT-1 that was established from xenograft tumors growing despite trastzumab treatment.
ERBB-2 (HER2/neu) gene copy number, p185HER-2 overexpression, and intratumor heterogeneity in human breast cancer.
- J. Szöllösi, M. Balázs, B. Feuerstein, C. Benz, F. Waldman
- BiologyCancer Research
- 15 November 1995
Results from four human breast cancer cell lines showed the strong possibility of a mechanistic link among p185HER-2 overexpression, ERBB-2 amplification, and high chromosome 17 copy number, and analysis of the primary breast tumor sample showed results similar to the cell lines.

It is concluded that obesity and the consequent estrogen excess decrease the sperm concentration by influencing the hypothalamo-pituitary system.
Molecular modeling of nearly full-length ErbB2 receptor.
- P. Bagossi, Gabor L Horvath, G. Vereb, J. Szöllösi, J. Tözsér
- Biology, ChemistryBiophysical Journal
- 1 February 2005
Favorable dimerization interactions are predicted for the extracellular, transmembrane, and protein kinase domains in the model of a nearly full-length dimer of ErbB2, which may act in a coordinated fashion in Erb B2 homodimerization, and also in heterodimers of ErBB2 with other members of the ErbA family.
Physical association between MHC class I and class II molecules detected on the cell surface by flow cytometric energy transfer.

Flow cytometric measurements of fluorescence energy transfer using single laser excitation.
- J. Szöllösi, L. Mátyus, S. Damjanovich
- Biology, ChemistryCytometry
- 1 March 1987
Flow cytometric energy transfer measurements between labeled specific sites of cell surface elements have been extended in a simplified form using a flow cytometer equipped with single excitation beam to demonstrate the uniform density of glycoproteins in the plasma membrane of normal and Gross virus leukemic mouse cells of different sizes.
IL-2 and IL-15 receptor alpha-subunits are coexpressed in a supramolecular receptor cluster in lipid rafts of T cells.
- G. Vámosi, A. Bodnár, S. Damjanovich
- BiologyProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences…
- 27 July 2004
This model suggests a direct role for the alpha-subunits, to which no definite function has been assigned so far, in tuning cellular responses to IL-2 or IL-15, which could be the basis of distinct signaling pathways by the two cytokines.
Impaired spermiogenesis as a common finding among professional drivers.
- M. Sas, J. Szöllösi
- MedicineArchives of andrology
- 1979
The effect of long-term driving upon spermiogenesis was investigated in 2984 patients, including 281 professional drivers, and there was a higher incidence of impaired fertility in drivers as compared to other professionals.

- J. Roszik, J. Szöllösi, G. Vereb
- PhysicsBMC Bioinformatics
- 19 August 2008
AccPbFRET is a user-friendly, efficient ImageJ plugin which allows fully corrected, pixel-wise calculation and detailed, ROI (region of interest)-based analysis of FRET efficiencies in microscopic images.
