Hepatitis B virus X protein induces the expression of MTA1 and HDAC1, which enhances hypoxia signaling in hepatocellular carcinoma cells
A positive cross talk between HBx and the MTA1/HDAC complex in stabilizing HIF-1α, which may play a critical role in angiogenesis and metastasis of HBV-associated HCC is indicated. Expand
Nuclear receptor PPARγ-regulated monoacylglycerol O-acyltransferase 1 (MGAT1) expression is responsible for the lipid accumulation in diet-induced hepatic steatosis

Recently, hepatic peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR)γ has been implicated in hepatic lipid accumulation. We found that the C3H mouse strain does not express PPARγ in the liver and,… Expand
Hepatitis B virus X protein enhances transcriptional activity of hypoxia-inducible factor-1alpha through activation of mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway.
It is demonstrated that expression of HIF-1alpha and vascular endothelial growth factor was increased in the liver of HBx-transgenic mice, suggesting that the cross-talk between HBx and hypoxia-inducible factor-1 alpha may lead to transcriptional activation of Hif-1Alpha target genes, which play a critical role in hepatocarcinogenesis. Expand
Endoplasmic reticulum stress induces hepatic steatosis via increased expression of the hepatic very low‐density lipoprotein receptor
It is demonstrated that the induction of ER stress stimulates hepatic steatosis through increased expression of the hepatic very low‐density lipoprotein receptor (VLDLR) and that ER stress–dependent expression of hepatic VLDLR leads to hepatic Steatosis by increasing lipop protein delivery to the liver. Expand
Liver X receptor mediates hepatitis B virus X protein–induced lipogenesis in hepatitis B virus–associated hepatocellular carcinoma
A novel association between HBx and LXR is suggested that may represent an important mechanism explaining HBx‐induced hepatic lipogenesis during HBV‐associated hepatic carcinogenesis. Expand
Regulation of the chondrocyte phenotype by β-catenin
expression pattern of Jun, a known target gene of β -catenin, is essentially the same as that of β-Catenin both in vivo and in vitro suggesting that Jun and possibly activator protein 1 is involved in the β- catenin regulation of the chondrocyte phenotype. Expand
Helminths in Rattus norvegicus captured in Chunchon, Korea.
Out of 43 examined rats, eggs of Capillaria hepatica were found in 11, Hymenolepis diminuta in 14 and Taenia taeniaeformis metacestodes in 28, which can be sources of zoonotic infections in the surveyed area. Expand

RNA sequencing analysis of intimal macrophages from atherosclerotic aorta revealed that lipid-loaded plaque Macrophages are not likely the plaque macrophage that drive lesional inflammation. Expand
Crucial roles of neuronatin in insulin secretion and high glucose-induced apoptosis in pancreatic beta-cells.
Nnat may play a critical factor in normal beta-cell function, as well as in the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes, and adenovirally-expressed Nnatbeta was inclined to form aggresome-like structures, and it was found that Nnat beta aggregation inhibited the function of the proteasome. Expand
