Studies in astronomical time series analysis. II - Statistical aspects of spectral analysis of unevenly spaced data
- J. Scargle
- Computer Science
- 15 December 1982
This paper studies the reliability and efficiency of detection with the most commonly used technique, the periodogram, in the case where the observation times are unevenly spaced to retain the simple statistical behavior of the evenly spaced case.
THE LARGE AREA TELESCOPE ON THE FERMI GAMMA-RAY SPACE TELESCOPE MISSION
- W. Atwood, A. Abdo, M. Ziegler
- Physics
- 6 February 2009
The Large Area Telescope (Fermi/LAT, hereafter LAT), the primary instrument on the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope (Fermi) mission, is an imaging, wide field-of-view (FoV), high-energy γ-ray…
FERMI LARGE AREA TELESCOPE FIRST SOURCE CATALOG
- A. Abdo, M. Ackermann, M. Ziegler
- Physics
- 25 May 2010
We present a catalog of high-energy gamma-ray sources detected by the Large Area Telescope (LAT), the primary science instrument on the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope (Fermi), during the first 11…
FERMI LARGE AREA TELESCOPE SECOND SOURCE CATALOG
We present the second catalog of high-energy γ-ray sources detected by the Large Area Telescope (LAT), the primary science instrument on the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope (Fermi), derived from data…
THE FIRST CATALOG OF ACTIVE GALACTIC NUCLEI DETECTED BY THE FERMI LARGE AREA TELESCOPE
- A. Abdo, M. Ackermann, M. Ziegler
- Physics
- 31 January 2010
We present the first catalog of active galactic nuclei (AGNs) detected by the Large Area Telescope (LAT), corresponding to 11 months of data collected in scientific operation mode. The First LAT AGN…
THE SECOND FERMI LARGE AREA TELESCOPE CATALOG OF GAMMA-RAY PULSARS
- A. Abdo, M. Ajello, Zhirong Yang
- Physics
- 19 September 2013
This catalog summarizes 117 high-confidence ⩾0.1 GeV gamma-ray pulsar detections using three years of data acquired by the Large Area Telescope (LAT) on the Fermi satellite. Half are neutron stars…
Spectrum of the isotropic diffuse gamma-ray emission derived from first-year Fermi Large Area Telescope data.
- A. Abdo, M. Ackermann, M. Ziegler
- PhysicsPhysical Review Letters
- 18 February 2010
The first Fermi Large Area Telescope measurements of the so-called "extragalactic" diffuse gamma-ray emission (EGB) are reported, finding the spectrum is featureless, less intense, and softer than that derived from EGRET data.
Attributes of Pulses in Long Bright Gamma-Ray Bursts
- J. Norris, R. Nemiroff, G. Fishman
- Physics

An Introduction to the Theory of Point Processes, Vol. I: Elementary Theory and Methods
- J. Scargle
- EducationTechnometrics
- 1 May 2004
This book is a book that needs to be read and, although the text is not thick enough to be relegated to the “tome” category, it is just slightly smaller than a regular sheet of paper.
THE FIRST FERMI LARGE AREA TELESCOPE CATALOG OF GAMMA-RAY PULSARS
- A. Abdo, M. Ackermann, M. Ziegler
- Physics
- 8 October 2009
The dramatic increase in the number of known gamma-ray pulsars since the launch of the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope (formerly GLAST) offers the first opportunity to study a sizable population of…
