The identification of a potent and selective ERRalpha inverse agonist that interferes effectively with PGC-1alpha/ERRalpha-dependent signaling is reported, and it is demonstrated that monoamine oxidase B is an ERR alpha target gene whose expression is regulated by P GC-1 alpha and ERRAlpha and inhibited by the ERR Alpha inverse agonists.
