The results make it possible to align the FPV genome with the genome of bovine papillomavirus type 1 and to show, moreover, that avian and mammalian papilomaviruses have a similar genome organization.

A surprisingly low prevalence of BVDV and BHV-1 antibody-positive herds at one of the milk centres was found, which reflects the self-clearance process, where consecutive replacement of imported infected animals without further spread has resulted in a nearly total elimination of the infections.

A swedish isolate of bovine papillomavirus type 1 (BPV1) was cloned and a 4807 base pairs long sequence was determined, covering the entire late region of the BPV1 genome and strategic parts of the…
Characterization of a paramyxovirus isolated from the brain of a piglet in Mexico

Serologically the virus proved to be distinct from the paramyxoviruses tested so far, and studies on experimental transmission showed that young pigs are susceptible to infection which induced a disease similar to that in natural cases.
Antigenic and immunogenic epitopes shared by human papillomavirus type 16 and bovine, canine, and avian papillomaviruses

The most reactive of the HPV 16 broadly cross-reactive epitopes was a carboxy-terminal epitope which had the sequence DTYRF and which reacted with nine of the antisera to BPV, canine PV, or avian PV, with the commercially available rabbit antiserum toBPV, and also with a mouse monoclonal antibody to BPv.

Porcine rubulavirus LPMV RNA persists in the central nervous system of pigs after recovery from acute infection.
- Å. Wiman, B. Hjertner, M. Berg
- BiologyJournal of Neurovirology

The P-gene editing in the recovered pigs is concluded that the viral genome is transcriptionally active in these pigs and the relevance of the persistence of LPMV for maintenance and spread within and/or between pig populations is discussed.
