Genetic relationship between five psychiatric disorders estimated from genome-wide SNPs
Empirical evidence of shared genetic etiology for psychiatric disorders can inform nosology and encourages the investigation of common pathophysiologies for related disorders.

Risperidone was effective and well tolerated for the treatment of tantrums, aggression, or self-injurious behavior in children with autistic disorder and the benefit was maintained at six months.
A genomewide scan for loci involved in attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder.
- S. Fisher, C. Francks, S. Smalley
- BiologyAmerican Journal of Human Genetics
- 1 May 2002
This is the first systematic genomewide linkage scan for loci influencing ADHD in 126 affected sib pairs, using a approximately 10-cM grid of microsatellite markers and indicates that there is unlikely to be a major gene involved in ADHD susceptibility in this sample.
Analysis of shared heritability in common disorders of the brain
- V. Anttila, B. Bulik-Sullivan, B. Crespo-Facorro
- Psychology, MedicineScience

It is demonstrated that, in the general population, the personality trait neuroticism is significantly correlated with almost every psychiatric disorder and migraine, and it is shown that both psychiatric and neurological disorders have robust correlations with cognitive and personality measures.
