Lipase (EC 3.1.3) from Candida rugosa was covalently immobilised on to cellulose, cellulose derivatives and cellulose composite membranes using activating agents such as sodium periodate or carbodiimide and showed that the expressed activities are of the same order of magnitude for similar enzyme loadings when compared with those obtained from literature.
