Artificial ‘spin ice’ in a geometrically frustrated lattice of nanoscale ferromagnetic islands
This work reports an artificial geometrically frustrated magnet based on an array of lithographically fabricated single-domain ferromagnetic islands, arranged such that the dipole interactions create a two-dimensional analogue to spin ice, behaviour which is strikingly similar to the low-temperature state of spin ice.
Eemian interglacial reconstructed from a Greenland folded ice core
The new North Greenland Eemian Ice Drilling (‘NEEM’) ice core is presented and shows only a modest ice-sheet response to the strong warming in the early Eemians, which was probably driven by the decreasing summer insolation.

The results show that leaching of the contaminated soil with clean water rapidly reduced soluble acidity and ion concentrations in the soils, but only <20% of the total actual acidity in the soil column was eliminated after 30 leaching cycles, suggesting that the stored acidity continues to be released to the percolating water over a long period of time.
Experimental Research on the Robotic Compound Polishing Process with Mixed Magnetic Abrasive
The quality and the efficiency of the polishing process are important to the lead time of the rapid tooling. Robotic polishing process with free abrasive is adapted to the finishing of complex mould
The High Intensity Proton Linac for CSNS
Work on the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) has been progressing well, including successful prototyping of some of the key components of the facility. CSNS R&D projects of linac have extended
