A synopsis of the orders and families of Plectomycetes with keys to genera
Systematics and Phylogeny of Fungi in the Rhizoctonia Complex
The taxonomic position of seven basidial genera of the Rhizoctonia complex is discussed and a new genus Aquathanatephorus Tu and Kimbrough, based on the species A. pendulus, is proposed.
Septal Ultrastructure and Ascomycete Systematics
- J. Kimbrough
It is demonstrated that septal structures may be useful in delimiting various groups of ascomycetes and use of these characters to show phylogenetic linkages between the epigeous and hypogeous tuberalean Pezizales is demonstrated.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE FUSICOCCUM ANAMORPH OF BOTRYOSPHAERIA RIBIS, A POTENTIAL BIOLOGICAL CONTROL AGENT FOR MELALEUCA QUINQUENERVIA IN SOUTH FLORIDA
Eight isolates of the Fusicoccum anamorph of Botryosphaeria ribis were obtained from South Florida and Morphological characteristics of these isolates were studied on various culture media.
A SYNOPSIS OF THE GENERA AND SPECIES OF THE TRIBE THELEBOLEAE (= PSEUDOASCOBOLEAE)
It is proposed to abandon the Pseudoascoboleae and use the tribe name Theleboleae, placed in the Pezizaceae rather than the Ascobolaceae, for all of those genera with asci that do not blue in iodine, with smooth, elliptical spores without oil guttules, and with eight-spored and multispored species.
Antennopsis gallica Heim and Buchli (Hyphomycetes. Gloeohaustoriales), an entomogenous fungus on subterranean termites in Florida.
Taxonomic position of Termitaria and Mattirolella (entomogenous Deuteromycetes)
A new order of Deuteromycetes, Termitariales is proposed for them, and Termitaria appears to be closely related to another cuticle-infecting parasite of termites, Mattirolella Colla.
Studies on the Coryneliales. I. Fitzpatrickella, a Monotypic Genus on the Fruits of Drimys
A new member of the Coryneliales, Fitzpatrickella operculata Benny, Samuelson & Kimbrough, is described, characterized by the formation of a circumscissile dehiscent zone on the ascocarp apex that delimits an operculum at maturity.
