No differences were observed between 1H NMR spectra of nonpreserved urines and urines with added sodium azide and stored at -25 degrees C, whereas the presence of sodium fluoride caused a shift of especially citrate resonances.

Two previously known phenanthroindolizidine alkaloids and a novel alkaloid were isolated from aerial parts of Cynanchum vincetoxicum, demonstrating that these compounds are poor substrates for the P-glycoprotein (P-170) efflux pump.
In vitro cytotoxic activity of phenanthroindolizidine alkaloids from Cynanchum vincetoxicum and Tylophora tanakae against drug-sensitive and multidrug-resistant cancer cells.

The IC(50) values of some of the alkaloids are in the low nanomolar range, being thus comparable to the activity of clinically used cytotoxic drugs, and could possibly be overcome by modern tissue-specific drug targeting techniques.
Age dependent accumulation of N-acyl-ethanolamine phospholipids in ischemic rat brain. A (31)P NMR and enzyme activity study.

The results showed that the ability to accumulate NAPE during post-decapitative ischemia is especially high in the youngest rats and is markedly reduced in older brains, and it would be advantageous to investigate a potential cytoprotective role of NAPE in the brains of very young rats.

1H NMR-based metabolic phenotyping of plasma samples in patients with RA is well suited for discovery of biomarkers and may be a potential approach for disease monitoring and personalized medication for RA therapy.
