A detailed study of a model of close-packed dimers on the square lattice with an interaction between nearest-neighbor dimers, resulting in a low-temperature crystalline phase and analytic results relevant to the noninteracting case of dimer coverings, including a Bethe ansatz analysis.

A generalization of Kirchhoff's matrix-tree theorem is proved in which a large class of combinatorial objects are represented by non-Gaussian Grassmann integrals, and it follows that, in two dimensions, this fermionic model is perturbatively asymptotically free.
CRITICAL BEHAVIOR OF RANDOM-BOND POTTS MODELS
- J. Cardy, J. Jacobsen
- Physics
- 5 May 1997
The effect of quenched impurities on systems which undergo first-order phase transitions is studied within the framework of the q-state Potts model. For large q a mapping to the random field Ising…
Integrable spin chain for the SL(2,R)/U(1) black hole sigma model.
- Y. Ikhlef, J. Jacobsen, H. Saleur
- PhysicsPhysical Review Letters
- 6 September 2011
A spin chain based on finite-dimensional spin-1/2 SU(2) representations but with a non-Hermitian "Hamiltonian" is introduced and it is shown that it is described at low energies by the SL(2,R)/U(1) Euclidian black hole conformal field theory.

- 14 September 2007
We present an algorithm for enumerating exactly the number of Hamiltonian chains on regular lattices in low dimensions. By definition, these are sets of k disjoint paths whose union visits each…

Spanning Forests and the q-State Potts Model in the Limit q →0
- J. Jacobsen, J. Salas, A. Sokal
- Physics
- 4 January 2004
We study the q-state Potts model with nearest-neighbor coupling v=eβJ−1 in the limit q,v → 0 with the ratio w = v/q held fixed. Combinatorially, this limit gives rise to the generating polynomial of…
