Applying association mapping and genomic selection to the dissection of key traits in elite European wheat
The application of association mapping and genomic selection for key breeding targets using a large panel of elite winter wheat varieties and a large volume of agronomic data suggests that whilst AM offers potential for application in both research and breeding, GS represents an exciting opportunity to select key traits.
A baseline study of vicine–convicine levels in faba bean (Vicia faba L.) germplasm
A rapid and robust screening method, capable of distinguishing between faba beans that are either high (wild type) or low in vicine and convicine, is developed and an adaptation of a previously published method where a biochemical assay and spectral data were used to confirm the identity of the analytes, Vicine and Convicine is reported.
Interrelationships of fish and channel environmental conditions with aquatic macrophytes in an Argentine irrigation system
The positive association between carp biomass and water turbidity was both substantial and predictable, and was in turn associated with reduction in submerged plant growth and the biomass of the most widespread nuisance-causing plant species in the channels, Potamogeton pectinatus.
