The role of quantum information in thermodynamics --- a topical review
This topical review article gives an overview of the interplay between quantum information theory and thermodynamics of quantum systems, including the foundations of statistical mechanics, resource theories, entanglement in thermodynamic settings, fluctuation theorems and thermal machines.
Time and frequency domain characteristics of sperm whale clicks.
The frequencies at which the multiples emerge in male and female clicks supports the idea of air cavities in the sperm whale head acting as sound reflectors, although the magnitude of the second pulse at high frequencies suggests some form of off axis distortion.
Acoustic Assessment of Populations of Common Dolphin Delphinus Delphis In Conjunction With Seismic Surveying
Common dolphin, Delphinus delphis (bairdi), were monitored acoustically across a survey area of 2747 km 2 during a three month period before, during and after an oil industry two dimensional (2D)
Distribution and relative abundance of sperm whales in the Mediterranean Sea
Investigation of sperm whale distribution with respect to bathymetry did not establish a significant preference for either continental-slope waters or the open sea, but high biological productivity in the northwestern basin might explain high sperm whale relative abundance, noticeably in the Gulf of Lions.
Diving and Feeding Behaviour of Sperm Whales (Physeter macrocephalus) in the Northwestern Mediterranean Sea
Whale body size appeared to be significantly related with both the number of creaks per dive and the dive time at which the first creak occurred, suggesting that larger whales may increase their prey intake and use deeper water layers than smaller whales.
Summer social distribution of sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus) in the Mediterranean Sea
Sperm whale social distribution was investigated in the Mediterranean Sea, using data collected during summer surveys from 1997 to 2002. Variations in the size of sperm whale schools/underwater
Variation in the whistle characteristics of short-beaked common dolphins, Delphinus delphis, at two locations around the British Isles
The whistle repertoire of short-beaked common dolphins recorded in the Celtic Sea was compared to that of D. delphis from the Western Approaches of the English Channel, and most whistle parameters were significantly different: almost all frequency variables measured were significantly higher in English Channel whistles.
Quantacell: Powerful charging of quantum batteries
It is demonstrated that the quantum advantage for power holds when, with cyclic operation in mind, initial and final states are required to be separable.
Enhancing the Charging Power of Quantum Batteries.
This work provides an upper bound to the achievable quantum advantage when the interaction order is restricted; i.e., at most k batteries are interacting, which constitutes a fundamental limit on the advantage offered by quantum technologies over their classical counterparts.

Waveform cross correlation and cepstrum analysis were used to demonstrate possible techniques to measure pulse intervals within sperm whale sonar clicks, but it was concluded that neither method was reliable for spot measurements of IPIs from individual clicks.
