Underexpression of the proEGF gene in all tumors analyzed and the first observation on primary tumor tissue in humans that upon malignant transformation the gene for a polypeptide growth factor gene is underexpressed are revealed.
Expression of the insulin like growth factor-binding protein 3 (IGFBP-3) gene is increased in human renal carcinomas.
A participation of the IGFBP-3 gene in the development of human renal cell cancer is suggested by a restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) present in normal and malignant cellular DNA.

The isolation of lambda‐positive hybridomas from C57BL/6 mice which had been immunized with antibody Ac38, the antibody recognizing idiotope Ac38 is described, demonstrating that the Ac38 idiotope is a marker for at least five VH and three D region genes in the C57 BL/6 germ line.

The vast majority of primary anti-NP antibodies of IgHb mice carry X chains: in contrast to the 95% K-bearing antibodies in normal mouse immunoglobulin, and express a recurrent idiotype (called NPb) that is controlled by both the Ighb and the IgX locus.
From Genes to Proteins: Genotypic and Phenotypic Analysis of DNA Sequences by Protein Sequencing
It is shown that partial protein sequencing is very useful for proving the existence of a gene product if neither specific antisera nor any functional assay exists and sequence comparison by indirect methods such as the comparison of amino acid compositions, may permit an accurate, inexpensive, and rapid description of phylogenies and taxonomic relationships.

Can existing software handle industrial optimization problems? optimization of the kemira's (B) ammonia synthesis loop
Abstract We test an existing software on the real case of the Kemira's (B) ammonia synthesis loop, especially when this works at low capacity. We use optimization to examine cases where we just seek…
