Upper midline laparotomy in the presence of pulmonary failure is often complicated by a prolonged period of mechanical ventilation postoperatively. We report the successfull performance of laparoscopic fundoplication, without ventilatory suport, in a woman with end stage pulmonary disease and resting hypercarbia, one month prior to lung transplantation.
