A simulator of lower jaw movements is described. The device developed and manufactured by the authors presents a carcass which carries an electric drive, an indexing mechanism, and seats for installation of the models or natural preparations of the lower jaw. The parameters of the movement of the lower bearing seat are as follows: lowering, displacement,(More)
As a result of investigations on microstiffness of the cartilagenous covering of the human femoral bone head, normal (20), different values of microstiffness have been defined in various zones, depending on their functional load and thickness of the cartilage. The data obtained can serve for construction of subtotal endoprostheses of the coxal joint.
Three pin designs were under study: cone-like, with hatches, and snake-cranked. Fixation strength to rupture and compression of 1, 2, and 3 pins was examined. Snake-cranked pins were found best of all fixed in the root canal. The force needed to extract 1 pin was 2.92 +/- 0.3 H, for 2 pins 4.23 +/- 0.4 H, for 3 pins 9.64 +/- 0.4 H. To compress 1 pin the(More)
Dental roots and channels were measured in 160 premolars and molars on human upper and lower jaws. The longest roots were found in 5-th teeth and shortest in 7-th. The data suggest that dental channels can be extended up to 10 mm. Their maximal widening in upper jaw molars and premolars is 1 mm and in lower premolars 1.2 mm.
Two series of experiments were performed in rabbits of both sex at the age of 2-6 months. In I series (42 rabbits) the modelling of Perthes' diseases was performed by a lesion produced in the proximal diaepiphysial femoral growth zone. Character and course of pathological processes in the femoral head and neck were studied. They were mainly correspond to 5(More)
A method for mandibular osteosynthesis with screwed metal plates in proposed. A hole for the screw and two teeth is made at every end of the plate. A kit of original instruments for this osteosynthesis operation is suggested. Good results were achieved with these plates used in the patients with fresh mandibular fractures and with those complicated with(More)
