Dental roots and channels were measured in 160 premolars and molars on human upper and lower jaws. The longest roots were found in 5-th teeth and shortest in 7-th. The data suggest that dental channels can be extended up to 10 mm. Their maximal widening in upper jaw molars and premolars is 1 mm and in lower premolars 1.2 mm.
Three pin designs were under study: cone-like, with hatches, and snake-cranked. Fixation strength to rupture and compression of 1, 2, and 3 pins was examined. As a result of investigations on microstiffness of the cartilagenous covering of the human femoral bone head, normal (20), different values of microstiffness have been defined in various zones, depending on their functional load and thickness of the cartilage. The data obtained can serve for construction of subtotal endoprostheses of the coxal joint.
