We present a protocol for large-alphabet quantum key distribution (QKD) using energy-time entangled biphotons. Two-dimensional images are delayed in a cesium vapor cell. The transverse phase and amplitude profiles of the images are shown to be preserved, even at very low light levels.
We describe a technique for enhancing the efficiency of sum frequency generation using entangled signal and idler photons. By resonating the sum frequency field, we observe that the generated power varies linearly with input power and is increased by a factor of 12.
We report on the slowing and stopping of transverse images in a hot atomic vapor. The images are shown to be robust to decohering mechanisms. The hot vapor is also shown to preserve quantum fields.
