IFN-? enhances TRAIL-induced apoptosis through IRF-1: IFN-? enhances TRAIL-induced apoptosis
- Sang-Youel Park, J. Seol, D. Seol
- Biology, Medicine
- 1 November 2004
It is shown that IFN-gamma enhances TRAIL-induced apoptosis through IRF-1, a member of the TNF family and a potent inducer of apoptosis.
Branching pattern of aortic arch in the Korean water deer.
- D. Ahn, Hyeon-Cheol Kim, In-Shik Kim
- MedicineJournal of Veterinary Medical Science
- 1 October 2008
The results suggest that the Korean water deer has a brachiocephalic trunk with different branching patterns from those of domestic ruminants.
Molecular detection of feline hemoplasmas in feral cats in Korea.
- Dohyeon Yu, Hyunwoo Kim, Jinho Park
- BiologyJournal of Veterinary Medical Science
- 1 December 2007
This is the first molecular detection of feline hemoplasmas in Korea, and partial 16S rRNA gene sequences were closely related to those from other countries.
Wortmannin elevates tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand sensitivity in LNCaP cells through down-regulation of IAP-2 protein.
- J. Seol, You-jin Lee, Sang-Youel Park
- Biology, MedicineExperimental oncology
- 1 June 2005
Wortmannin elevates the TRAIL sensitivity in LNCaP cells by regulating the phosphorylation of Akt and IAP-2 protein expression, which is believed to mediate the enhanced TRAIL-induced apoptosis.
Regulation of DR-5 protein and mitochondrial transmembrane potential by gemcitabine, a possible mechanism of gemcitabine-enhanced TRAIL-induced apoptosis.
- J. Seol, A. Chaudhari, Sang-Youel Park
- Biology, ChemistryOncology Report
- 1 September 2007
It is suggested that gemcitabine may be used as a successful chemotherapeutic agent for ligand type tumor therapy combined with TRAIL, and the apoptotic signals are mediated by DR-5-dependent pathway and mitochondrial pathway.

Reactive oxygen species regulate Bax translocation and mitochondrial transmembrane potential, a possible mechanism for enhanced TRAIL-induced apoptosis by CCCP.
- A. Chaudhari, J. Seol, Sang-Youel Park
- Biology, ChemistryOncology Report
- 1 July 2007
The results suggest that uncoupling the cells by CCCP can overcome the resistance to TRAil protein and can be a very efficient treatment for the tumor cells especially resistant to TRAIL-induced apoptosis.

It is shown that IFN-gamma enhances TRAIL-induced apoptosis through IRF-1, a member of the TNF family and a potent inducer of apoptosis.
Taurine reduces FK506-induced generation of ROS and activation of JNK and Bax in Madin Darby canine kidney cells
- Seol-Hee Jeon, Hye-Min Park, Hyung-Sub Kang
- BiologyHuman and Experimental Toxicology
- 7 January 2010
The results indicate that taurine can prevent FK506-induced kidney toxicity, and reduce the FK505-induced generation of ROS and activation of JNK and Bax.
