The occurrence and ultrastructure of Trypanosoma (Herpetosoma) lewisi (Kent, 1880) Laveran and Mesnil, 1901, the parasite of rats (Rattus norvegicus) in Poland.
Light and electron microscopic examination of Trypanosoma (Herpetosoma) lewisi (Kent, 1880) Laveran and Mesnil, 1901, isolated from rats from Poland exhibited typical ultrastructural features similar to those of other stercorarian trypanosomes.
Trypanosoma [Herpetosoma] grosi kosewiense subsp. n., the parasite of the yellow-necked mouse Apodemus flavicollis [Melchior, 1834]
It is revealed that trypanosomes parasitizing the yellow-necked mouse are different in many investigated parameters, including the broadest size of its body falls midway of the PN distance, not at the nuclear level.

Evidently, microparasites of alien gammarids inhabiting Polish inland and coastal waters versus those infecting local species were transported to the area through the range expansion of their invasive hosts.
