Countermeasures were placed on countermeasures such as screening, contact tracing, cleaning procedures, education in accurate use of infection control practices as well as increasing awareness of hygiene among patients and visitors, with the dissemination rate decreased substantially, but new infections with the E. faecium vanB strain were still detected.

It is suggested that the blocking factor in sera from tumor-bearing animals is an antigenantibody complex capable of binding to the target cells and/or reacting with lymphocytes immune to their antigens, thus blocking the lymphocytes' reactivity; the latter reaction is postulated to be of a temporary nature.
