- BiologyProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences…
- 26 April 1994
The findings suggest that, in the forebrain, NMDA receptor subunit 2B may serve to anchor NMDA receptors at the postsynaptic membrane through its interaction with the PSD, and the prominent presence of tyrosine phosphate further suggests that theNMDA receptor may be regulated by tyrosinesine phosphorylation or that it may participate in signaling through tyrosin phosphorylated and through its ion channel.
Characterization of Densin-180, a New Brain-Specific Synaptic Protein of the O-Sialoglycoprotein Family
- Michelle L. Apperson, I. Moon, M. Kennedy
- BiologyJournal of Neuroscience
- 1 November 1996
The protein densin-180 is purified from the postsynaptic density fraction of rat forebrain and amino acid sequences of three tryptic peptides generated from the protein were used to design a strategy for cloning the cDNA encoding the protein by polymerase chain reaction.
Effect of chitosan oligosaccharide on 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin-induced oxidative stress in mice.
- Y. Shon, I. Park, I. Moon, H. Chang, In-kyung Park, K. Nam
- Biology, ChemistryBiological and Pharmaceutical Bulletin
- 1 September 2002
Results suggest that chitosan oligosaccharide might be a potential agent for combating TCDD-induced pathogenesis.
Neuroprotection Against Oxidative Stress: Phytochemicals Targeting TrkB Signaling and the Nrf2-ARE Antioxidant System
- M. Hannan, R. Dash, A. Sohag, Md. Nazmul Haque, I. Moon
- BiologyFrontiers in Molecular Neuroscience
- 2 July 2020
The cellular antioxidant defense and TrkB signaling-mediated cell survival systems be considered pharmacological targets for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, and review the literature on the neuroprotective effects of phytochemicals that can co-activate these neuronal defense systems.
Neuronal activation increases the density of eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E mRNA clusters in dendrites of cultured hippocampal neurons.
- I. Moon, Sun-Jung Cho, D. Seog, R. Walikonis
- BiologyExperimental and Molecular Medicine
- 31 August 2009
The results demonstrate the presence of eIF4E mRNA in dendrites and an activity-dependent increase of these clusters at synaptic sites, which provides a potential mechanism by which protein translation at synapses may be enhanced in response to synaptic stimulation.

Developmental expression, subcellular localization, and tyrosine phosphorylation of NR2A and NR2B in the rat brain.
The results indicate that expression and tyrosine phosphorylation of NR2B might be important for NMDA receptor functions in embryonic and early postnatal development.
