The results suggest that gomisin A induces marked protective effects against hepatic and renal injury induced by CCl(4) exposure through differential regulation of the MAPK signal transduction pathway.
Anti-bacterial Effects of Aqueous Extract Purified from the Immature Cone of Red Pine (Pinus densiflora)
Results suggested that the aqueous extracts of immature red pine cone should be considered as a new and potentially important anti-bacterial substrate to effectively prevent the microbial infection and penetration.
Pen-2 overexpression induces Aβ-42 production, memory defect, motor activity enhancement and feeding behavior dysfunction in NSE/Pen-2 transgenic mice.

The results suggest that Pen-2 overexpression in NSE/hPen-2 Tg mice may induce all the AD-like phenotypes, including behavioral deficits, motor activity and feeding behavior dysfunction, Aβ-42 peptide deposition and chronic disease induction.
Overexpression of Insulin Degrading Enzyme could Greatly Contribute to Insulin Down-regulation Induced by Short-Term Swimming Exercise
Results showed that insulin down-regulation induced by short-term swimming exercise likely attributes to enhanced insulin clearance via IDE over-expression than by altered insulin production.
Altered expression of γ-secretase components in animal model of major depressive disorder induced by reserpine administration
The data presented here provide additional evidence about the pathological correlation between MDD and AD and among the three components of the γ-secretase complex, nicastrin protein underwent the largest decrease in expression, as detected by Western blotting.
Selenium Significantly Inhibits Adipocyte Hypertrophy and Abdominal Fat Accumulation in OLETF Rats via Induction of Fatty Acid β-Oxidation
The results suggest that Se may induce inhibition of adipocyte hypertrophy and abdominal fat accumulation along with suppression of fatty liver formation by the differential regulation of the gene expression for fatty acid β-oxidation in the OLETF model.
UV radiation-induced skin aging in hairless mice is effectively prevented by oral intake of sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L.) fruit blend for 6 weeks through MMP suppression and increase of SOD…
Results suggest that SFB has potential as a protective and therapeutic drug candidate against skin aging that functions by regulating the moisture content, MMP expression levels and SOD activity.
Alzheimer's phenotypes induced by overexpression of human presenilin 2 mutant proteins stimulate significant changes in key factors of glucose metabolism.
Evidence is provided that key factors of glucose metabolism are closely associated with the AD pathology induced by the hPS2m protein, and that insulin can serve as a potential therapeutic for AD patients.
Quantitative evaluation of therapeutic effect of Liriope platyphylla on phthalic anhydride-induced atopic dermatitis in IL-4/Luc/CNS-1 Tg mice.
Growth sensitivity in the epiphyseal growth plate, liver and muscle of SD rats is significantly enhanced by treatment with a fermented soybean product (cheonggukjang) through stimulation of growth…
It is suggested that CKJ extract may enhance the sensitivity of the femur, liver and muscle epiphyseal growth plate in SD rats, through the upregulation of GH secretion.
