In the elderly with advanced NSCLC, checkpoint inhibitors are efficacious and well tolerated and may be appropriate for use in patients with an increased impaired functional status, and in this category of patients this therapy may be used as a neoadjuvant therapy in order to improve the resectability of the tumor.
