Electrochemical Evaluations of Fractal Microelectrodes for Energy Efficient Neurostimulation
The findings indicate that the increase in electrode perimeter leads to an increase in maximum charge injection capacity and found that the electrode geometry can have even more significant impact on electrode performance than having a larger perimeter for a given surface area.
Facile fabrication of flexible glutamate biosensor using direct writing of platinum nanoparticle-based nanocomposite ink.

The experimental results indicate that physical removal of adherent cells at the microscale is feasible using magnetic microactuation.
Rapid custom prototyping of soft poroelastic biosensor for simultaneous epicardial recording and imaging
In vivo evaluations of custom-fit biosensors in a murine acute myocardial infarction model demonstrate a potential clinical utility in the simultaneous intraoperative recording and imaging on the epicardium, which may guide definitive surgical treatments.

It is aimed to locate summaries of preclinical studies performed by manufacturers of neuromodulation devices using different animal models and a broad range of stimulation parameters through public regulatory databases and to add them to a body of knowledge available to a broad scientific community.
Graphene prevents neurostimulation-induced platinum dissolution in fractal microelectrodes
Platinum (Pt) is one of the most commonly used materials for neural interface owing to its excellent biocompatibility and good charge transfer characteristics. Although Pt is generally regarded to be…
Nonlinear damping for vibration isolation of microsystems using shear thickening fluid
This work reports the measurement and analysis of nonlinear damping of micro-scale actuators immersed in shear thickening fluids (STFs). A power-law damping term is added to the linear second-order…
Anti-Biofouling Strategies for Long-Term Continuous Use of Implantable Biosensors
This review explores the impact of various biotic and abiotic failure modes on the reliability of implantable biosensors and explores a number of active anti-biofouling approaches including stimuli-responsive materials and mechanical actuation.
One-step Large-scale Nanotexturing of Non-planar PTFE Surfaces to Induce Bactericidal and Anti-inflammatory Properties.
The results suggest the possibility of using this simple process to generate large scale biomimetic nanotextured surfaces with good anti-biofouling properties to enhance the functionality of many implantable and other biomedical devices.
