A Novel EEG Feature Extraction Method Using Hjorth Parameter
After analyzing EEG signals with the Hjorth parameter, the performance of the feature extraction in EEG-based BCI systems was improved and the classification accuracy was improved by 4.4% on average.
Channel Estimation Based on a Time-Domain Threshold for OFDM Systems
A channel-estimation method based on a time-domain threshold which is a standard deviation of noise obtained by wavelet decomposition is proposed which approaches to that of the known-channel case in terms of bit-error rates after the Viterbi decoder in overall SNRs.
Robust LFM Target Detection in Wideband Sonar Systems
Performance analyses show that the proposed method provides output SNR close to the optimal performance and that the computational load is extremely reduced as compared to the conventional LFM target detection method.
Unbiased equation-error adaptive IIR filtering based on monic normalization
It is found that normalizing all the coefficients of the denominator filter by the first coefficient after each adaptation removes the bias and leads to unbiased estimates, and the proposed method can indeed produce unbiased parameter estimates in the presence of noise.
Blind decision feedback equalization for VSB-based DTV receivers
We present a novel blind decision feedback equalization algorithm for VSB-based DTV receivers by modifying a stop-and-go dual-mode algorithm to improve the performance of convergence speed and
Near‐Optimum Blind Decision Feedback Equalization for ATSC Digital Television Receivers
This paper adopts a modified trellis decoder with a trace- back depth of 1 for the decision device in the DFE, and obtains a hardware-efficient, blind DFE approaching the performance of an optimum DFE which has no error propagation.
Noise-Robust Channel Estimation for DVB-T Fixed Receptions
Computer simulation shows that the proposed noise-reduction method improves the channel estimation performance in overall SNRs.
Low-Complexity LLR Calculation for Gray-Coded PAM Modulation
A novel log-likelihood ratio computation algorithm for Gray-coded higher-order pulse-amplitude modulation (PAM) that reduces the order of complexity from O(2M) to O(M) without any difference of the LLR values compared with the Max-Log-MAP demapper.
Performance analysis of error propagation effects in the DFE for ATSC DTV receivers
It is found that while blindequalization is preferable to decision-directed (DD) equalization at signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) values less than 18 dB, DD equalization is superior to blind equalizer at SNR values greater than 18dB.
