The nickel-like silver x-ray laser in the transient collisional-excitation scheme is demonstrated. The gain coefficient, the intensity ratio to the background signal, the beam divergence and the size of the gain region are investigated.
Differential scattering cross-section data have been measured at 43 angles from 11◦ to 160◦ for 37-MeV neutrons incident on 209Bi.
