- 16 January 2018
Loihi is a 60-mm2 chip fabricated in Intels 14-nm process that advances the state-of-the-art modeling of spiking neural networks in silicon, and can solve LASSO optimization problems with over three orders of magnitude superior energy-delay-product compared to conventional solvers running on a CPU iso-process/voltage/area.
Coherent signal-subspace processing for the detection and estimation of angles of arrival of multiple wide-band sources
A method of constructing a single signal subspace for high-resolution estimation of the angles of arrival of multiple wide-band plane waves using an approximately coherent combination of the spatial signal spaces of the temporally narrow-band decomposition of the received signal vector from an array of sensors is presented.

Abnormal Cerebral Structure Is Present at Term in Premature Infants
- T. Inder, S. Warfield, Hong Wang, P. Hüppi, J. Volpe
- MedicinePediatrics
- 1 February 2005
This MRI study of prematurely born infants further defines the nature of quantitative cerebral structural abnormalities present as early as term equivalent and is related most significantly to the degree of immaturity at birth and to concomitant WM injury.
Tanycytes of the Hypothalamic Median Eminence Form a Diet-Responsive Neurogenic Niche

- 10 March 2012
Using genetic fate mapping, it is found that median eminence tanycytes generate newborn neurons, revealing a previously unreported neurogenic niche in the mammalian hypothalamus with important implications for metabolism.

Gene Expression Profiles during the Initial Phase of Salt Stress in Rice
- S. Kawasaki, C. Borchert, H. Bohnert
- BiologyThe Plant Cell
- 1 April 2001
Transcript regulation in response to high salinity was investigated for salt-tolerant rice with microarrays including 1728 cDNAs from libraries of salt-stressed roots and the interpretation of an adaptive process was supported by the similar analysis of salinity-sensitive rice.
On adaptive spatial-temporal processing for airborne surveillance radar systems
This work presents a new adaptive algorithm, called the Joint-Domain Localized Generalized Likelihood Ratio detection (JDL-GLR), which is data efficient i.e., with fast convergence to the joint-domain optimum, as well as computationally efficient, together with such desirable features as the embedded constant false-alarm rate (CFAR) and robustness in non-Gaussian interference.
