A naphthalimide appended rhodamine based fluorescent chemosensor '1' is synthesized which undergoes through bond energy transfer in the presence of Hg(2+) ions in mixed aqueous media.
The binding behavior of triphenylene based copper ensemble prepared in situ has been investigated toward various anions (F(-), Cl(-), Br(-), I(-), CH(3)COO(-), H(2)PO(4)(-), NO(3)(-), OH(-), ClO(4)(-), CN(-), CO(3)(-) and SO(4)(-)) by UV-vis and fluorescence spectroscopy. Among various anions tested, 1-Cu(2+) ensemble shows selective and sensitive response… (More)
In the emerging field of medical image processing, computer vision, pattern recognition and other digital signal processing applications, window technique is vastly used. A window function is a mathematical function that is zero-valued outside of some chosen interval. When another function is multiplied by a window function, the product is also zero-valued… (More)
New triphenylene derivatives 3 and 5, synthesized using a Suzuki-Miyaura coupling protocol and by a click reaction respectively, serve as potent chemosensors for various electron deficient nitroaromatic explosives, such as picric acid, trinitrotoluene, dinitrotoluene and dinitrobenzene. Derivative 5 exhibits a more sensitive response towards the… (More)
Terphenyl derivatives 3 and 4 having OTBS groups have been synthesized via a Suzuki-Miyura coupling reaction. These compounds undergo unprecedented irreversible cyclization to symmetrically/unsymmetrically substituted triphenylenes while carrying out the deprotection of OTBS groups using tetrabutylammonium fluoride. Terphenyl 3 also serves as a new… (More)
We report a two-photon fluorescent probe for ratiometric imaging of cysteamine in situ. This probe can detect the levels of endogenous cysteamine with statistical significance in live cells and brain hippocampal tissues, revealing that cysteamine is localized mainly in the perikaria of the pyramidal neurons and the granule cells.
Novel pentacenequinone derivatives 3, 7, and 10 have been synthesized via Suzuki-Miyaura coupling. Derivatives 3 and 7 having OTBS groups undergo irreversible fluoride-induced cyclization to substituted higher quinones in the presence of TBAF in dry THF using one-pot, two-step strategies in moderate yields. These functionalized higher quinone derivatives… (More)
Supramolecular aggregates of hexaphenylbenzene derivative exhibit aggregation induced emission enhancement and modulation of self-assembled architecture from spherical to flower-like assembly in the presence of H2S. Furthermore, probe displays higher photostability, low toxicity and bright green fluorescence in two-photon microscopy (TPM) imaging for the… (More)
Triphenylene-based discotic liquid crystal 3 bearing 1,2,3-triazole groups has been synthesized using "click" chemistry. Discotic mesogen 3 has good thermal stability, and incorporation of triazole groups results in stabilization of columnar mesophases down to room temperature and formation of organogels in cyclohexane and mixed solvents such as hexane and… (More)
