It is demonstrated that the general model for the magnetic-dipole magnetization, in terms of a frequency-dependent diagonal dyadic, is applicable to general rotationally symmetric targets (not just cylinders and rings), and used to fit measured wideband EMI data from ferrous cylindrical targets.
Simulation of optical caustics associated with the secondary rainbow of oblate droplets.
A vector-ray tracing model is employed to simulate optical caustic structures in the secondary rainbow region of light scattering from oblate droplets and the location of cusp caustics is calculated from VRT simulations and compared with analytic solutions.

- 13 October 2010
Using One-against-One (OAO) method of multi classification of Support Vector Machine (SVM), the mean classification accuracy for the radiated noise of underwater targets in three types is steadily above 98% for the summation-at-every-column feature vector and the combination feature vector respectively.
Light propagation and reflection-refraction event in absorbing media
- Jianqi Shen, Haitao Yu, Jindeng Lu
- Physics
- 2010
The light propagation within an absorbing medium and the reflection and refraction at the interface of two absorbing media are studied. By using the unit vectors denoting the planes of constant field…

- EngineeringApplied Optics
- 10 April 2008
A new version of the iterative projection method, combined with the constraints of nonnegativity and smoothness, is proposed and is studied in the presence of experimental noise and shows fast convergence, is more stable against random noise, and is insensitive to particle size distributions.

Zr: LiNbO3 crystals has been grown. The crystal composition and phase are analyzed by X‐ray diffration. The optical damage resistance ability of Zr: LiNbO3 crystals is studied by the Sénarmont…
Optical caustics associated with the primary rainbow of oblate droplets: simulation and application in non-sphericity measurement.
According to the generalized rainbow patterns and the relation between aspect ratio and curvature of the rainbow fringe, non-sphericities in terms of aspect ratio of an oblate water droplet is measured with high measurement accuracy.
