The effect of six weeks of squat, plyometric and squat-plyo-metric training on power production. Weight training of the thigh muscles using closed vs. open kinetic chain exercises: a comparison of performance enhance ment. Acute and long-term power responses to power training: Observations on the training of an elite power athlete. The load that maximizes(More)
The purpose of our study was to compare the effects of 2 different periodization models on strength and power variables under dynamic and static conditions in the bench press. Participants of the experimental groups were male sport students experienced in weight training (age: 23.98 +/- 3.14 yr). Subjects were tested for the 1 repetition maximum (1RM) in(More)
Dividing training objectives into consecutive phases to gain morphological adaptations (hypertrophy phase) and neural adaptations (strength and power phases) is called strength-power periodization (SPP). These phases differ in program variables (volume, intensity, and exercise choice or type) and use stepwise intensity progression and concomitant decreasing(More)

Exclusive production of 0 and J== mesons in e + p collisions has been studied with the ZEUS detector in the kinematic range 0:25 < Q 2 < 50 GeV 2 , 20 < W < 167 GeV for the 0 data and 2 < Q 2 < 40 GeV 2 , 50 < W < 150 GeV for the J== data. Cross sections for exclusive 0 and J== production have been measured as a function of Q 2 , W and t. The spin-density(More)
Using the ZEUS detector at HERA, we have studied the reaction e + p ! e + X for Q 2 > 5000 GeV 2 with a 20:1 pb ?1 data sample collected during the years 1994 to 1996. For Q 2 below 15000GeV 2 , the data are in good agreement with Standard Model expectations. For Q 2 > 35000 GeV 2 , two events are observed while 0:145 0:013 events are expected. A(More)
Strength training-induced increases in speed strength seem indisputable. For trainers and athletes, the most efficient exercise selection in the phase of preparation is of interest. Therefore, this study determined how the selection of training exercise influences the development of speed strength and maximal strength during an 8-week training intervention.(More)
The ALICE measurement of K(S)(0) and Λ production at midrapidity in Pb-Pb collisions at √(s(NN))=2.76 TeV is presented. The transverse momentum (p(T)) spectra are shown for several collision centrality intervals and in the p(T) range from 0.4 GeV/c (0.6 GeV/c for Λ) to 12 GeV/c. The p(T) dependence of the Λ/K(S)(0) ratios exhibits maxima in the vicinity of(More)
The photoproduction of prompt photons, together with an accompanying jet, has been studied in ep collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 318 GeV with the ZEUS detector at HERA using an integrated luminosity of 77 pb −1. Cross sections were measured for the transverse energy of the photon and the jet larger than 5 and 6 GeV, respectively. The differential(More)
The dependence of dijet production on the virtuality of the exchanged photon, Q 2 , has been studied by measuring dijet cross sections in the range 0 < ∼ Q 2 < 2000 GeV 2 with the ZEUS detector at HERA using an integrated luminosity of 38.6 pb −1. Dijet cross sections were measured for jets with transverse energy E jet T > 7.5 and 6.5 GeV and(More)
