First Isolation of Stephanoascus ciferrii from a Cat
- R. Kano, K. Makimura, T. Kushida, Megumi Nomura, H. Yamaguchi, A. Hasegawa
- MedicineMicrobiology and immunology
- 1 August 2000
The microscopic examination of the clinical isolate revealed abundant branched and septated mycelia with small ramified chains of oval blastoconidia, variable in size, and arranged alongside the hyphae, confirming the result of mycological examination by molecular analysis.
A unique isolate of Malassezia from a cat.
- A. Hirai, R. Kano, A. Hasegawa
- Biology, MedicineJournal of Veterinary Medical Science
- 1 October 2002
This clinical isolate from a cat with otitis externa might be a new species of Malassezia, which is similar to M. sympodialis in morphological and biochemical characteristics but differed in molecular analysis from the 7 species previously reported.
Purification and characterization of angiotensin II degradation factor from porcine endothelial cells.
- H. Fujioka, T. Okabe, H. Yamaguchi
- BiologyTohoku journal of experimental medicine
- 1 November 1995
The angiotensin II degradation factor (ADF) was inhibited by p-chloromercuribenzoic acid, iodoacetamide and high concentration of EDTA, but not by diisopropyl fluorophosphate, bestatin, amastatin or pepstatin A.
A new genotype of Arthroderma benhamiae.
- R. Kano, A. Sano, A. Hasegawa
- BiologyMedical Mycology
- 1 November 2008
The phylogenetic analysis indicated that the five isolates from hedgehogs were included in the same cluster and distinct from the Americano-European and the African race standard strains of A. benhamiae.
Purification, characterization and immunochemical properties of a novel 60-kDa protein of Vibrio anguillarum strains.
- L. Mutharia, J. Klinck, H. Yamaguchi, M. Davey
- BiologyFEMS Microbiology Letters
- 1 November 1998
Vibrio anguillarum strains expressed increased amounts of a novel 60-kDa protein when cells were grown at physiologically elevated temperatures. The relative amounts of the 60-kDa protein were…
Preparation of GDP-L-Fucose by Using Microbial Enzymes
- Kenji Yamamoto, T. Maruyama, H. Kumagai, T. Tochikura, T. Seno, H. Yamaguchi
- Biology, Chemistry
- 1 March 1984
Evidence is presented showing that GDP-4-keto-6-deoxy-D-mannose is an intermediate in the conversion of GDP-mannoseto GDP-fucose and this conversion requires NADPH.
Purification and Characterization of a Novel α-l-Fucosidase from Fusarium oxysporum Grown on Sludge
- T. Yano, Kenji Yamamoto, H. Yamaguchi
- Biology, Chemistry
- 1 November 1985
The α-L-fucosidase showed a novel substrate specificity in that it could hydrolyze porcine mucin and blood group substances of human saliva besides nitrophenyl compounds as well as showing relatively stable in the pH range of 4-8 and up to 45°C on 10min incubation.
P‐15 Identification of Malassezia spp. isolated from a cat and cattle, including a new species, M. nana
- A. Hirai, R. Kano, K. Makimura, H. Yamaguchi, A. Hasegawa
- Biology
- 1 August 2004
Improved the identification system by examining lipid requirement, catalase reaction, precipitate production on modified Dixon agar, utility of cremophor EL, ability to split esculin and the shape of cells, and represents an identification scheme for Malassezia spp.
