Tea catechin and caffeine activate brown adipose tissue and increase cold-induced thermogenic capacity in humans.
- T. Yoneshiro, M. Matsushita, M. Saito
- MedicineAmerican Journal of Clinical Nutrition
- 1 April 2017
Orally ingested tea catechin with caffeine acutely increases EE associated with increased BAT activity and chronically elevates nonshivering CIT, probably because of the recruitment of BAT, in humans.
Cloning and expression of aminopeptidase P gene from Escherichia coli HB101 and characterization of expressed enzyme.
- T. Yoshimoto, N. Murayama, T. Honda, H. Tone, D. Tsuru
- BiologyJournal of Biochemistry (Tokyo)
- 1 July 1988
Characteristics suggest that cloned aminopeptidase P is identical to APP-II reported by Yoshimoto et al.
Coffee with a high content of chlorogenic acids and low content of hydroxyhydroquinone improves postprandial endothelial dysfunction in patients with borderline and stage 1 hypertension
- M. Kajikawa, T. Maruhashi, Y. Higashi
- MedicineEuropean Journal of Nutrition
- 12 January 2018
Findings suggest that a single intake of coffee with a high content of chlorogenic acids and low content of hydroxyhydroquinone is effective for improving postprandial endothelial dysfunction.
Sequencing and high expression of aminopeptidase P gene from Escherichia coli HB101.
- T. Yoshimoto, H. Tone, T. Honda, K. Osatomi, R. Kobayashi, D. Tsuru
- BiologyJournal of Biochemistry (Tokyo)
- 1 March 1989
A plasmid pAPP1 with a 4 kbp insert at the PstI site of pBR322, encoding aminopeptidase P gene of Escherichia coli HB101, was subcloned into pUC18 and pUC19 and the mature enzyme protein-encoding sequence was found to start just after an ATG codon, as judged by comparison with amino-terminal protein sequencing.
Antitumor activities of (2"R)-4'-O-tetrahydropyranyl-adriamycin (THP) and its combination with other antitumor agents on murine tumors.
- Y. Matsushita, H. Kumagai, H. Umezawa
- Chemistry, BiologyJournal of antibiotics (Tokyo. )
- 1 October 1985
THP showed almost the same antitumor activity on the solid-type sarcoma-180 or solid- type Ehrlich carcinoma as ADM by intraperitoneal or intravenous treatment and some superior activity to ADM in the advanced stage of L1210 leukemia.
Pharmacokinetics of doxorubicin, (2"R)-4'-O-tetrahydropyranyl-adriamycin and aclarubicin.

The properties of ADR, THP and ACR in terms of their pharmacokinetics were carried out in vivo and resulted in the formation of bioactive glycoside metabolites and inactive aglycone metabolites.
Anthracycline metabolites from Streptomyces violaceus A262. IV. New anthracycline yellamycins produced by a variant strain SC-7.
- O. Johdo, H. Tone, T. Takeuchi
- Biology, ChemistryJournal of antibiotics (Tokyo. )
- 1 October 1991
New anthracycline antibiotics, designated as obelmycins A, D, E, F and G, were isolated from the culture broth of a variant strain of beta-rhodomycin-producing Streptomyces violaceus A262 and assayed for their in vitro cytotoxicities against murine leukemic L1210 cell culture and the antimicrobial activities in comparison with some known anthRacyclines.
[Studies on the absorption, excretion and distribution of aclacinomycin A: absorption, excretion and distribution of 14C- or 3H-aclacinomycin A in mice, rats and rabbits (author's transl)].
- H. Iguchi, Y. Seryu, T. Kiyosaki, S. Hori, H. Tone, T. Oki
- Biology, MedicineThe Japanese Journal of Antibiotics
- 1 February 1980
Autoradiography with 14C-aclacinomycin A in rats demonstrated that radioactivity due to the drug distributed in the lungs, spleen, kidneys, thymus, intestine, lymph nodes, bone marrow, salivary gland, hypophysis and pineal body but it was rapidly cleared.
Effect of adenosine-5′-triphosphate-3′-diphosphate and related nucleoside polyphosphates on the spore germination of Streptomyces galilaeus
- Y. Hamagishi, H. Tone, T. Oki, T. Inui
- BiologyArchives of Microbiology
- 1 April 1980
PppApp inhibited more strongly RNA synthesis in the period of the germ tube emergence than the early stage of germination, and this reversible inhibitory effect appeared to be at the transcriptional level, and also depends on the phase of spore germination.
Acute local irritative effect of (2''R)-4'-O-tetrahydropyranyladriamycin, a new antitumor antibiotic.
