Families of Dothideomycetes
Dothideomycetes comprise a highly diverse range of fungi characterized mainly by asci with two wall layers (bitunicate asci) and often with fissitunicate dehiscence, and it is hoped that by illustrating types they provide stimulation and interest so that more work is carried out in this remarkable group of fungi. Expand
Fungal biodiversity in aquatic habitats
It is predicted that many species remain to be discovered in aquatic habitats given the few taxonomic specialists studying these fungi, the few substrate types studied intensively, and the vast geographical area not yet sampled. Expand
A class-wide phylogenetic assessment of Dothideomycetes
A genomic comparison of 6 dothideomycete genomes with other fungi finds a high level of unique protein associated with the class, supporting its delineation as a separate taxon. Expand
Fungal Identification Using Molecular Tools: A Primer for the Natural Products Research Community
This review discusses problems of using morphology alone in the identification of fungi to the species level, the three nuclear ribosomal genes most commonly used in fungal identification, and the potential advantages and limitations of the ITS region. Expand
Naming and outline of Dothideomycetes–2014 including proposals for the protection or suppression of generic names
This paper lists all genera currently accepted by us in Dothideomycetes, including pleomorphic and non-pleomorphic genera, and proposes single generic names for future usage, following the rulings of the current ICN. Expand
Notes for genera: Ascomycota
This work is intended to provide the foundation for updating the ascomycete component of the “Without prejudice list of generic names of Fungi” published in 2013, which will be developed into a list of protected generic names. Expand
Fungal Planet description sheets: 371–399
Several novelties are introduced from Spain, namely Psathyrella complutensis on loamy soil, Chlorophyllum lusitanicum on nitrified grasslands and Pseudobeltrania ocoteae from Ocotea obtusata (Beltraniaceae emend.). Expand
Freshwater ascomycetes: Cyanoannulus petersenii, a new genus and species from submerged wood
Results from phylogenetic analyses indicate that R044 does not belong to any of the existing genera that have been included in the Annulatascaceae, thus a new genus, Cyanoannulus, is established to accommodate it. Expand
Fungal Planet description sheets: 469–557
Novel species of fungi described in this study include those from various countries as follows: Australia: Apiognomonia lasiopetali on Lasiopetalum sp., Blastacervulus eucalyptorum on EucalyptusExpand
Recommendations for competing sexual-asexually typified generic names in Sordariomycetes (except Diaporthales, Hypocreales, and Magnaporthales)
With the advance to one scientific name for each fungal species, the generic names in the class Sordariomycetes typified by sexual and asexual morphs are evaluated based on their type species toExpand
