The prophylactic use of thio-tepa and urokinase in transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder: a preliminary report.
- H. Hisazumi, T. Uchibayashi, K. Naito, T. Misaki, K. Miyazaki
- The Journal of urology
- 1 September 1975
A significant drop in the recurrence rate in the group subjected to the combined therapy of thio-tepa and urokinase is indicated, indicating that this was not attributable to the use of u rokinase. Expand
Whole bladder wall photoradiation therapy for carcinoma in situ of the bladder: a preliminary report.
Acute vesical inflammatory changes developed in the bladder wall lining, associated with a reduction of bladder capacity, which, however, disappeared within 3 months after photoradiation therapy, and repeat urinary cytologic and cystoscopic examinations revealed no malignancy. Expand
Thiazide treatment for calcium urolithiasis in patients with idiopathic hypercalciuria.
- M. Ohkawa, S. Tokunaga, T. Nakashima, M. Orito, H. Hisazumi
- British journal of urology
- 1 June 1992
It is shown that trichlormethiazide has a prophylactic effect on calcium urolithiasis in patients with idiopathic hypercalciuria, and there was a statistically significant fall in urinary calcium output in patients treated with thiazide. Expand
Bacterial and crystal adherence to the surfaces of indwelling urethral catheters.
- M. Ohkawa, T. Sugata, M. Sawaki, T. Nakashima, H. Fuse, H. Hisazumi
- The Journal of urology
- 1 April 1990
Bacterial and crystal adherence to the surfaces of indwelling urethral catheters was investigated by scanning electron microscopy and immunofluorescence method and it was believed that the thick coherent matrix adherent to the catheter served as a protected reservoir of microorganisms that persisted despite antimicrobial chemotherapy. Expand
Fibrinolytic activity in normal and cancerous tissues of the bladder.
Clinical significance of measurement of serum D-arabinitol levels in candiduria patients.
The results suggest that knowledge of the serum D-arabinitol concentration may help to promptly diagnose invasive candidiasis, particularly Candida pyelonephritis. Expand
Biochemical and pharmacodynamic studies of simple renal cyst fluids in relation to infection.
Drug levels in the fluid were below detection limit in the noninfected and approximately half or less of the serum values in the infected patients, which may explain one of the reasons why infection of simple renal cysts is highly resistant to antimicrobial chemotherapy. Expand
Anticancer drug sensitivity in vitro in the bladder cancer cell line, KK-47 and prophylactic use of carbazilquinone and urokinase in bladder cancer
The results in the thio-TEPA failures group suggested the presence of a cross-resistance between both alkylating agents, and of a persistent susceptibility to multifocal lesions. Expand
Inhibitory effect of normal and cancerous tissues of the bladder on plasminogen activation.
- H. Hisazumi
- Chemistry, Medicine
- Investigative urology

Spontaneous passage of upper urinary tract calculi in relation to composition.
- M. Ohkawa, S. Tokunaga, T. Nakashima, K. Yamaguchi, M. Orito, H. Hisazumi
- Urologia internationalis
- 1 July 1993
The composition of calculi obtained from the upper urinary tract was analyzed using an infrared spectrophotometer, and the spontaneous passage rate was investigated in relation to the composition as well as other variables, such as stone size, and patient age and sex. Expand
