- I. Villena, D. Aubert, J. Pinon
- BiologyApplied and Environmental Microbiology
- 1 July 2004
A strategy for Toxoplasma oocyst detection is proposed as part of an approach to detecting multiple waterborne parasites, including Giardia and Cryptosporidium spp.
Integrated taxonomy: traditional approach and DNA barcoding for the identification of filarioid worms and related parasites (Nematoda)
- E. Ferri, M. Barbuto, M. Casiraghi
- BiologyFrontiers in Zoology
- 7 January 2009
DNA barcoding is proposed as a reliable, consistent, and democratic tool for species discrimination in routine identification of parasitic nematodes and the coherence between DNA-based and morphological identification for almost all the species examined is very strong.

Three groupings are clearly highlighted: andrejevi and mongolensis;mireillae and saevus;jacusieli, kazeruni, sergenti and similis, related to speculations about the migration of Paraphlebotomus from a centre of dispersion located in the Middle East sometime from the early Eocene to the late Miocene.
Trichobilharzia spp. in natural conditions in Annecy Lake, France
All the snails emitting the ocellate furcocercariae belong to the same species identified as Radix peregra (=Radix ovata = Radix balthica).

A molecular phylogeny of species within the order Strongylida (bursate nematodes) using the D1 and D2 domains of 28S rDNA, with 23 new sequences for each domain is produced, with no unequivocal morphological synapomorphy found for the grouping Molineoidea + Heligmosomoidea, but none was found which contradicted it.
New data in France on the trematode Alaria alata (Goeze, 1792) obtained during Trichinella inspections
- J. Portier, D. Jouet, I. Vallée
- BiologyParasite

First investigations on the parasite’s resistance to deep-freezing in meat are presented in this work, and information is given by findings of these larvae during Trichinella mandatory meat inspection on wild boars’ carcasses aimed for human consumption.
