Testis response to low doses of cadmium in Wistar rats
The results show that a very small difference of Cd dose causes a sudden increase in testicular damage, apparently overpowering this tissue’s natural defences.
Ultrastructural analysis of spermiogenesis in Iguana iguana (Reptilia: Sauria: Iguanidae).
Spermiogenesis in the lizard, Iguana iguana, was studied by transmission and scanning electron microscopy, finding that in the lumen of seminiferous tubules, immature spermatozoa retain abundant residual cytoplasm.
Antioxidative and in vitro antiproliferative activity of Arctium lappa root extracts
The hydroethanolic extracts exhibited the strongest free radical scavenging activity, while the highest phenolic content was observed in Soxhlet extraction, and the dichloromethane extracts showed selective antiproliferative activity against human cancer cell lines.
Seasonal changes in testicular and epididymal histology of the tropical lizard, Tropidurus itambere (Rodrigues, 1987), during its reproductive cycle.
Using histology and trasmission electron microscopy, the seasonal changes in the testis and epididymis of the lizard Tropidurus itambere are shown, during its annual reproductive cycle.
Ultrastructural, histological and histochemical characteristics of the epithelial wall of the seminal vesicle of mature Scaptotrigona xanthotricha moure males (Hymenoptera, apidae, meliponini)
The epithelial cells of the seminal vesicles showed none of the features characteristically associated with a secretory function, which suggested that the material in which the spermatozoa were immersed in the vesicle lumen was produced elsewhere along the ducts and/or during sexual maturation of the males.
Structure and ultrastructure of the spermatozoa of Bephratelloides pomorum (Fabricius) (Hymenoptera: Eurytomidae)
These structural variations demonstrate that the sperm of chalcidoids provide characteristics that can certainly prove useful for future phylogenetic analysis at the subfamily level and, possibly, the genus too.
Cytological steps during spermiogenesis in the house sparrow (Passer domesticus, Linnaeus).
Spermiogenesis of the domestic sparrow was investigated with the light and electron microscopes and a step by step classification is proposed and the final cellular modifications lead to the formation of a spiraled spermatozoon.
Histomorphometric evaluation of the neotropical brown brocket deer Mazama gouazoubira testis, with an emphasis on cell population indexes of spermatogenic yield.
The qualitative and quantitative description of testicular histology of brown brocket deer help to understand its spermatogenic process and to establish parameters for the reproductive biology of this wild species.

Spermatogenesis, with emphasis on spermiogenesis, is described for the lizard, Tropidurus itambere, using light microscopy, phase contrast and epifluorescence, as well as scanning and transmission
Structure and ultrastructure of spermatozoa in Meliponini (stingless bees) (Hymenoptera: Apidae).
It is concluded that it is possible to define a characteristic pattern for Meliponini spermatozoa, and species-specific differences are found that could be used in a taxonomic or phylogenetic evaluation.
