Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) protect host plants against diverse biotic and abiotic stresses, and promote biodegradation of various contaminants. In this study effect of Glomus mosseae/Medicago sativa mycorrhiza on atrazine degradation was investigated. It was observed that the atrazine degradation rates with any addition level in mycorrhizal… (More)
In a changing climate, drought stress accounts for significant crop yield loss. To test the hypothesis that proteins play an important role in plant drought tolerance, we conducted physiological and proteomic analyses to investigate the stress responses of two sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L.) cultivars with contrasting tolerance to drought stress. Under… (More)
In this study, sugar beets (Beta vulgaris L.) were grown at different K+/Na+ concentrations: mmol/L, 3/0 (control); 0.03/2.97 (K–Na replacement group; Trep); 0.03/0 (K deficiency group; Tdef) in order to investigate the effects of K+ deficiency and replacement of K+ by Na+ on plant proteomics, and to explore the physiological processes influenced by Na+ to… (More)
Sugar beet production and sugar industry in China started in the year 1906. Sugar beet is mainly grown in the northeast and northwest of China. This paper reviews the outline of current situation of sugar beet production and the present predicament of sugar beet industry, and discusses the sustainable development of the industry.
