This paper describes our first attempts to develop a method for the objective assessment of quality in substitution voices. The objective analysis deals with acoustic parameters characterising short voice and speech samples like a sequence of isolated vowels, a sequence of VCV and CVCVCV syllables, a short sentence, etc. A database of 113 registrations from… (More)
The stability of steady, vertically upward and downward flow of water in a homogeneous layer of soil is analyzed. Three equivalent dimensionless forms of the Richards equation are introduced, namely the pressure head, saturation, and matric flux potential forms. To illustrate general results and derive special results, use is made of several representative… (More)
In this note we consider a coupled parabolic-elliptic system. We show existence , uniqueness, and regularity of the system by using a contraction argument. The presented results have applications to the linear stability analysis of gravity-driven flow.
