The results establish the structural features of the chromatin covering the pS2 promoter as well as transcriptionally associated alterations, suggesting how the nucleosomal template influences transcriptional regulation by estrogen receptor.

It is demonstrated that one specific, functional consequence of induced histone acetylation at a native promoter is the alleviation of nucleosome-mediated repression of the binding of TBP.

It is concluded that isocarboxazid inhibits the production of 6AcHA in vivo, thus supporting the involvement of MAO in HMBA metabolism and suggesting that 6 AcHA is probably not the neurotoxic agent in dogs.
