A VIEW OF COMPUTATIONAL STATISTICS AND ITS CURRICULUM
- E. Wegman, George Mason
- Computer Science
- 1988
The new pipeline and parallel architectures including systolic arrays and hypercubes, the emergence of artificial intelligence, the cheap availablility of RAM and color graphics, the impact of high resolution Graphics, the potential for optical, biological and chemical computing machines and the pressing need for software/language models for parallel computing are all aspects of the computation revolution which figure prominently in the other sciences.
AXELROD’S METANORM GAMES ON COMPLEX NETWORKS
- J. Galán, Burgos M. Latek, George Mason
- Computer Science
- 2007
A hybrid analytical methodology combining computer simulations with a novel mathematical approach that abstracts some details of evolutionary dynamics while retaining explicit and exact representation of underlying network topology is proposed.
A TEN-MODE SOCIAL NETWORK OF AFGHAN SOCIETY
- Walid K. Sharabati, E. Wegman, George Mason, Yasmin H. Said
- Computer Science
- 2009
This paper presents a novel advanced mathematical methodology to manipulate multi-mode networks, focusing on the matrix approach; it incorporates multi-dimensional tensor analysis to expand on vertex attributes and utilizes linear algebra to derive relational networks from the multi- mode networks.

Simple Arrangements of Pseudolines, and their Other Lives
- James Lawrence, George Mason
- Physics
By now, simple arrangements of pseudolines have been studied for nearly a century. Besides serving as objects to be studied in their own right, they also provide a combinatorial structure needed in…

Parallel Simulation of an Active Vision Model
- E. Wegman, H. Wechsler, George Mason
- Computer Science
- 2008
The implementation of a biologically motivated model of the human visual system (HVS) on the Paragon XP/S is described and speed-up curves, timing data and asymptotic analysis are presented.
On the Design of Quantum Graph Convolutional Neural Network in the NISQ-Era and Beyond
- Zhirui Hu, Jinyang Li, George Mason
- Computer ScienceICCD
- 1 October 2022
This work presents a full-quantum design of Graph Convolutional Neural Networks, namely "QuGCN", for semi-supervised learning on graph-structured data, and shows the potential advantages that can be achieved by the proposed quantum GCN design when the number of features grows.

- Babrata Ghoshal, R. Gomez, George Mason, J. Uhlmann, D. Ghoshal
- Computer Science
- 2012
It is argued that practical quantum computation is not as straightforward as commonly advertised, even if the technological problems associated to the manufacturing and engineering of large-scale quantum registers were solved overnight.
