Spectral and temporal characteristics of the photoinduced absorption in barium titanate were measured. Absorption peaks were observed at 450 and 820 nm with 60-msec decay times and at 775 nm with a 6-sec decay time.
This paper describes a convenient method for spatial profiling of pulsed laser beams using the scanning knife-edge technique. This method is applied to a Nd:YAG laser and a chopped CO2 laser.
The sublinear dependence of the photorefractive grating formation time on laser intensity in BaTiO(3) is explained by the secondary-center photorefractive model.
We report measurements of response time for the intensity-dependent absorption in a single BaTiO(3) crystal under conditions in which no photorefractive effect can be observed.
