Staurosporine-induced apoptosis was associated with a 20% cellular survival rate in primary rat forebrain cultures. Treatment with the NR2B subunit-selective NMDA receptor antagonist conantokin-G (0.1-1 microM) increased the survival rate up to 78%. No protection was provided by the nonselective NMDA receptor antagonist dizocilpine (0.01-10 microM) but(More)
The NMDA antagonist CGX-1007 (Conantokin-G) has previously been shown to possess potent neuroprotective properties when administered intracranially following experimental ischemic brain injury. Using the same model of middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAo) in rats we now report the neuroprotective effects of CGX-1007 when delivered intrathecally (i.t.).(More)
Wavelet transform feature extraction has become one of the most powerful techniques to improve the classification accuracy. In this paper, we are investigating the multi-level Daubechies wavelet reconstruction parameters. The EMG signal after performing the Daubechies wavelet was further processed by using one of the most successful features which is MAV.(More)
The urinary bladders of 70 clinically normal adult dogs of both sexes and a variety of breeds were catheterized after a urine specimen was taken from each dog by antepubic cystocentesis. All of the specimens were negative for bacterial growth after 72 hours' incubation at 37 C. Three days later, a 2nd urine specimen was taken from each dog by cystocentesis.(More)
