The results show that compounds eugenol and carvacrol display medium to weak inhibition against 1-deoxy-D-xylulose 5-phosphate reductoisomerase, the key enzyme of the 2-methyl- D-erythritol 4-ph phosphate terpenoid biosynthetic pathway and also a validated target for screening novel antibiotics.

This study reveals that, compared to traditional Monte Carlo simulations, the collocation-based stochastic approaches can accurately quantify uncertainty in petroleum reservoirs and greatly reduce the computational cost.
