Observations on mites inhabiting nests of Bubo bubo (L.) (Strigiformes, Strigidae) in Belgium
- A. Fain, D. Vangeluwe, M. Degreef, G. Wauthy
- Biology
- 1993
The acarofauna of six nests of Bubo bubo (L.) collected in Belgium has been studied and a possible scenario depicting, in three phases, the mite-bird relationships evolving with time is proposed.
Survey of mites in caves and deep soil and evolution of mites in these habitats
- X. Ducarme, G. Wauthy, H. André, P. Lebrun
- Environmental Science
- 1 June 2004
Adaptations to dry habitats probably greatly influenced the evolution in Oribatida and it is proposed that numerous mites colonized caves directly from deep soil without a surface stage.
Taxy and variations of leg setae and solenidia in Tetranychus urticae (Acari, Prostigmata)
- G. Wauthy, M. Noti, M. Leponce, V. Bauchau
- Biology
- 29 January 1999
Numerical variations of leg setae and solenidia were studied in a population of Tetranychus urticae on adult and immature individuals as well as on pupae, suggesting an inter-individual variability of regressive processes in the population studied.

Feather mites (Acariformes: Psoroptidia) from Colombia: Preliminary list with new records
- M. Barreto, M. Burbano, H. Proctor, S. Mironov, G. Wauthy
- Biology, Environmental Science
- 12 October 2012
The number of Co-lombian birds with identified taxa of feather mites is very low given the rich avifauna of this country, and special attention should be given to the 73 endemic Colombian bird species of which only four have feather mite records.
Revision of the quill mites of the genus Picobia Haller, 1878 (Acari: Syringophilidae) with notes on their host-parasites relationships
- M. Skoracki, G. Wauthy, A. Bochkov
- Biology
- 2004
The genus Picobia Haller (Acari: Syringophilidae) is revised and four new species are described from passerine birds (Passeriformes): Picobia locustella sp.
Geographic ecology of soil oribatid mites in deciduous forests
- G. Wauthy, M. Noti, M. DufrĂªne
- Environmental Science
- 1989
On a broad, geographic scale (i.e. Belgium), soil oribatid mites show relatively simple patterns of spatial distribution and habitat use since two groups of species can be defined: «regionally…
Observations on the acarofauna of fish aquariums IV: A new Trimalaconothrus, T. aquatilis sp. n. (Malaconothridae, Oribatida) from an aquarium containing angel fishes.
- A. Fain, L. Lambrechts, G. Wauthy
- Biology, Environmental Science
- 1990
A new oribatid mite, Trimalacollotllrus aquatilis sp. n. (Malaconothridae) is described from an aquarium containing Angel Fishes (Pterophyllum altl/m) in Antwerp. It was mixed with numerous specimens…
