Female reproductive features have been investigated in five polar and deep-sea bobtail squid genera Rossia and Neorossia, characterized by asynchronous ovary maturation, very large eggs, fecundity of several hundred oocytes, very high reproductive output, and continuous spawning with low batch fecundities.

The distribution and biology of cephalopods collected during joint Korean-Russian surveys of the East/Japan Sea in 1993 and 1994 were examined, finding one sepiid squid, four teuthid squids, and one octopus belonging to five families.
