Molecular phylogenetics of Neotropical Cyanaeorchis (Cymbidieae, Epidendroideae, Orchidaceae): geographical rather than morphological similarities plus a new species
Bayesian and parsimony analyses showed that the Neotropical Cyanaeorchis does not belongs in the predominantly Old World subtribe Eulophiinae, where it has previously been placed, and is strongly supported as a sister to Grobya in Catasetinae.
A synopsis of Cohniella (Orchidaceae, Oncidiinae)
- German Carnevali Fernández-Concha, William Rolando Cetzal Ix, Ricardo Balam Narváez, G. Romero‐González
- 4 June 2010
A synopsis of the genus Cohniella is presented with nomenclatural updates with a discusion of diagnostic features and biogeographical data, and four new combinations are proposed, two of which are new species and one natural hybrid.

A Combined Evidence Phylogenetic Re-Circumscription and a Taxonomic Revision of Lophiarella (Orchidaceae: Oncidiinae)
It is demonstrated through separate and combined phylogenetic analyses of morphological characters, nucleotide sequences, and coded gaps of two DNA regions using parsimony and Bayesian inference, that Lophiarella (Orchidaceae), as originally circumscribed, is polyphyletic.
Novelties in the Orchid Flora of Venezuela III — Epidendrum

Abstract. Two species of Epidendrum from the Guayana shield never accurately illustrated for the flora of Venezuela, E. apuahuense and E. longicolle, are discussed and illustrated.
Description of a new species and notes on Crossoglossa (Orchidaceae: Epidendroideae: Malaxideae) from the eastern Andes in Colombia and Venezuela
A new species of Crossoglossa (Orchidaceae: Epidendroideae: Malaxideae), Crossoglossa acuminatissima, from Santander del Sur Department in Colombia, is described and illustrated, and its affinities…
A reappraisal of the turtle-orchids, genus Chelyorchis (Oncidiinae: Orchidaceae): Molecular, phylogenetic, and morphometric approaches1
The morphometric evidence strongly suggests that two taxa at the level of species should be recognized, differing primarily in the shape and proportions of the labellum but also in their geographical distribution, and both of the phylogenetic analyses strongly support the genus Chelyorchis as a monophyletic entity that is sister to a clade comprised of the genera Ticoglossum and RossioglossUM.
Studies in Aristolochia (Aristolochiaceae) of Hispaniola
- E. Fernández, I. Ferreras, B. Farrell, B. Medeiros, G. Romero‐González
- 8 October 2019
A review of the literature at large and the field photographic record of the senior author of this study indicate that there are several undescribed species of Aristolochia in Hispaniola (Dominican…
A phylogeny of the genus Encyclia (Orchidaceae: Laeliinae), with emphasis on the species of the Northern Hemisphere
A strong association between phylogenetic relationships and the geographic distribution of species and clades in the Caribbean, Central American, and the Pacific coast of Megamexico is found.
